Precision energy. Targeted tissue. Noninvasive delivery.
Valdara applies targeted ultrasound to deliver therapeutic energy precisely where it's needed — without needles, incisions, or broad thermal exposure.
Sound waves targeted at a precise point in tissue
Targeted ultrasound uses acoustic energy — the same physics as diagnostic ultrasound — but concentrates it at a specific depth and location within the body. Rather than imaging, the energy is used therapeutically: to heat, stimulate, or modulate tissue at a targeted site.
Unlike surface-level modalities, targeted ultrasound can reach structures deep beneath the skin — tendons, joint capsules, bursae, and periarticular soft tissue — without affecting the overlying layers.
A new generation of targeted ultrasound for MSK care
Traditional diathermy and untargeted ultrasound distribute energy broadly. Valdara focuses it.
Focused, not diffuse
Energy converges at a defined focal zone rather than spreading across the treatment area — enabling more targeted therapeutic effect.
Depth-controlled delivery
The focal depth is set by the transducer geometry and frequency — allowing clinicians to target specific anatomical structures.
Built on Openwater's platform
Valdara is developed on Openwater's targeted ultrasound technology — a platform with deep engineering expertise in precision transducer design and safety-focused development.
Traditional diathermy vs. Valdara
Traditional Diathermy
- Broad, unfocused energy distribution
- Heats superficial and deep tissue indiscriminately
- Limited ability to target specific structures
- Energy absorbed across a wide treatment volume
Valdara Targeted Ultrasound
- Energy converges at a precise focal point
- Targets specific tissue depth and location
- Spares overlying tissue from unnecessary exposure
- Designed for outpatient MSK workflows
Designed for the realities of outpatient MSK practice
Valdara is built around the clinical workflows, patient populations, and operational constraints of outpatient musculoskeletal care. The device is designed for professional clinical workflows, compatible with existing practice infrastructure, and focused on the conditions that PT, orthopedic, and sports medicine clinicians treat every day.
